A 5-year-old in Udaipur, Rajasthan, was attacked by stray dogs, amplifying concerns about the Supreme Court's recent order regarding canine control. The child's father advocates for stricter measures, emphasizing public safety, and urges protesters to witness the severity of these attacks.

The incident, occurring on August 14, left the child with multiple injuries. Despite a complaint, Animal Aid retrieved the dogs only a day later. The victim's mother calls for government action, noting a rise in such attacks, urging for a secure environment for children.

Meanwhile, 15-20 'dog lovers' allegedly clashed with Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) workers during a dog-catching drive in Rohini. The group reportedly assaulted staff, released captured dogs, and vandalized an MCD vehicle, leading to a police complaint against them for obstructing duties and theft.

On August 11, the Supreme Court mandated all stray dogs in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and surrounding areas to be placed in shelters, a directive that sparked protest. A Supreme Court bench is set to make an interim ruling on continuing this directive.
