The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) recorded an unprecedented achievement in June 2025, with a net addition of 21.89 lakh members, marking the highest figure since payroll tracking began in April 2018, according to the Labour Ministry.
This significant increase, representing a 13.46% year-on-year growth, was driven by heightened employment opportunities and increased awareness of employee benefits, a result of effective outreach initiatives by EPFO.
A dominant trend seen in the data is the rise in participation from the 18-25 age group, with 6.39 lakh new subscribers in this category, reflecting a broader inclusion of youth in the organized workforce, which prominently consisted of first-time job seekers.
