Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has unveiled the fifth phase of Mission Shakti, aiming to bolster women's safety, dignity, and self-reliance. Set to launch on September 22 in conjunction with the Sharadiya Navratri, the program will run for 30 days, as confirmed by an official release.

In a high-level meeting with senior officials, Adityanath directed that the initiative should feature robust interdepartmental coordination. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for increased foot patrolling and constant activity of PRV-112 vehicles. Senior police officers have been tasked with regular field visits and public engagement to ensure citizens feel secure.

Highlighting the critical role of the women police force, which includes 44,177 personnel, Adityanath stressed their involvement in maintaining order. Women officers will visit all 57,000 gram panchayats and 14,000 urban wards accompanied by local officials to raise awareness among women about their rights and available government schemes.

Special deployment of women police is mandated at public places during upcoming festivals, with a call to strengthen the Anti-Romeo Squad. Adityanath insisted on strict action against offenders and urged the organization of district-level programs on women's safety involving various community sectors.

Furthermore, Adityanath ordered the boosting of legal aid and fast-tracked trials for crimes against women. Pink Booths in municipal corporations will provide comprehensive support. The campaign's success is envisioned in reaching every village and ward, turning Mission Shakti into a broader social movement.

In the previous phase, over 3.44 lakh programs were conducted, engaging 2.03 crore women and deploying over 27,000 women personnel. Initiatives like Women's Helpline 1090 and Pink Booths have been effective. The UP model's success has been recognized for replication in other states.

Special operations in the last phase tackled cybercrime, child rescue, drug offenses, and illegal activities, bringing numerous arrests. (ANI)
