Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed preparations for the fifth Ground-breaking Ceremony (GBC) to commence in November. This pivotal event aims to attract private investment projects exceeding Rs 5 lakh crore, underscoring the state's commitment to fostering economic growth.
Chairing a high-level meeting, Adityanath highlighted the accomplishments of past GBCs that have facilitated projects worth Rs 15 lakh crore, generating employment for over 60 lakh youth. He emphasized the importance of prompt action and diligent monitoring across all investment proposals, particularly concerning land allocation to private industrial units.
The Chief Minister urged fair compensation practices in land acquisition efforts, recognizing the emotional ties individuals have to their land. He called for harmonized acquisition processes with increased compensation rates where necessary. Adityanath also pushed for export promotion, envisioning a FinTech hub in Noida, Greater Noida, or the Yamuna Authority region.
In emphasizing efficient use of resources, Adityanath mandated that industrial land allotments be revoked if unutilized for three years, allowing for reallocation to other investors. He advocated for simplifying the Nivesh Mitra and Nivesh Sarathi portals to ease investor engagement, while ensuring that upcoming GST reforms offer tangible benefits to citizens.
The meeting also spotlighted the creation of employment zones dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in each district, targeting at least 100 acres for industrial development. With a 2025-26 manufacturing sector target of Rs 5 lakh crore GVA, efforts are underway to register new and existing units under the Factories Act and accelerate labor reforms.
