Serentica Renewables has made history by signing India's first-ever 'load following' power purchase agreement (PPA) with the state-owned Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for a 100 MW clean energy initiative.
This innovative PPA allows Serentica to align power generation with the actual electricity demand of the buyers, adjusting on an hourly basis. The agreement demands that Serentica meet 80% of specified energy requirements monthly, with outputs fluctuating between 17 MW and 100 MW depending on demand.
To achieve this, the company will deploy a mix of wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems, aiming to generate over 400 GWh of clean energy annually.
