In a significant move, African petroleum regulators, spearheaded by Nigeria, have launched the African Petroleum Regulators Forum (AFRIPERF) to harmonize oil regulations continent-wide, according to the Nigerian oil regulator. The forum aims to foster crucial investment in Africa's energy sector.
Representatives from sixteen countries gathered in Accra for the forum's charter signing, held alongside Africa Oil Week. The forum seeks to create a consistent, transparent regulatory environment to attract investment, with eight countries, including Ghana and Nigeria, officially endorsing the initiative.
