Government Pledges Support to Flood-Hit Jammu Farmers

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan toured the devastated agrarian landscapes of Jammu and Kashmir's R S Pura, pledging robust financial and logistical support. In light of late August floods, the government prioritizes refunding agricultural losses that now endanger the farmers' futures.

During the visit, where heavy rains had devastated hectares of land, Chouhan underscored Prime Minister Modi's dedication to alleviating farmers' distress. Accompanied by a comprehensive ministerial team, Chouhan personally surveyed fields overwhelmed by sand deposits and crops, affirming that assessment reports will drive equitable relief distribution.

Addressing both immediate and long-term relief, Chouhan cited existing measures and funds, vowing a coordinated approach with the state to mitigate challenges and restore agricultural viability.
