In a notable triumph, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) emerged victorious in the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections, capturing three out of the four principal positions. Aryan Maan, newly elected as the president, defeated National Student Union of India (NSUI) candidate Joslyn Nandita Choudhary by a margin of 16,000 votes, securing a total of 28,821 votes to Choudhary's 12,645 votes. Anjali, the candidate backed by Left-affiliated AISA-SFI, finished third with 5,385 votes.
Expressing his gratitude to the student body, Maan remarked, "My dream for the past five years has been fulfilled." Addressing campus safety, Maan emphasized the importance of improving infrastructure, particularly by installing lights in darker areas to enhance security for female students. "We will get lights installed in those dark spots," the ABVP leader assured.
The ABVP's hold on the DUSU extended to the positions of Secretary, won by Kunal Chaudhary with 23,779 votes, and Joint Secretary, secured by Deepika Jha with 21,825 votes. NSUI's only win was in the Vice President race, where Rahul Jhansla garnered 29,339 votes against ABVP's Govind Tanwa. NSUI's national president, Varun Choudhary, acknowledged their efforts but claimed they faced opposition from multiple fronts, including the Delhi University administration and Delhi Police, alongside ABVP.
