New Delhi, Sep 22 (PIT) – Ultra Gas & Energy Ltd (UGEL), an Essar venture, is making a bold push towards greener logistics by investing Rs 900 crore to scale its LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) retail outlets to 100 across India. The initiative, announced Monday, aims to significantly expand India's largest private LNG station network.
Currently operating six strategic stations in major freight corridors, UGEL has its ROs in Bhilwara, Anand, Chakan-Pune, Jalna, Toranagallu, and Vallam. These locations are crucial industrial hubs, facilitating easy access to LNG, a cleaner alternative to diesel for long-haul transport. By providing reduced emissions and comparable diesel performance, LNG emerges as a viable eco-friendly fuel solution.
Aiming to lead India's green mobility revolution, UGEL plans to boost India's natural gas share in the energy mix to 15% by 2030. With integrated EV charging in each RO, UGEL supports cleaner logistics, transitioning commercial fleets to lower-emission fuels. In collaboration with IOC, GAIL, and HPCL, UGEL ensures an uninterrupted LNG supply from all major terminals.
