Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms on Monday, emphasizing their potential to save consumers money. Patel urged citizens to adopt self-reliance by using 'Swadeshi' products, encouraging support for goods produced within the state and country.

In a move to bolster local pride, Patel also encouraged shopkeepers to promote 'Made in India' products. As part of initiatives to improve public services, he, alongside State Health Minister Rushikesh Patel, flagged off 94 new 108 ambulances.

The day coincided with the onset of Navratri, for which Patel prayed for the nation's prosperity. Modi, in his address via video conferencing, extended Navratri greetings and highlighted the inauguration of the GST Bachat Utsav (Savings Festival), aimed at increasing savings and facilitating easier purchases for all economic classes.

The reforms aim to benefit the poor, middle class, and entrepreneurs, promising to simplify business operations, attract investments, and ensure equitable development among states. Modi emphasized that these changes would support a broad range of industries, enhance MSMEs, widen the tax base, and drive inclusive growth.
