During her visit, Gupta toured several shops, advocating for the sale of swadeshi goods. She emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's GST rate reductions were a boon for the economy, suggesting the reforms brought Diwali early for traders. Gupta urged citizens to purchase local goods for national growth.
The visit followed the GST Council's recent decision to lower rates on various goods and services, effective from September 22—the onset of Navratri. Traders expressed optimism about the reform's potential to boost their business.
