Tragic Accident: Sisters Attempt to Save Each Other in Seelap River

In a heart-wrenching incident, two sisters drowned in the Seelap river in Chhatarpur district as they tried to rescue one another, local authorities reported on Tuesday.
The tragedy unfolded when a 12-year-old girl entered the river for a bath on Monday evening and found herself struggling against strong currents. Her 16-year-old sister bravely jumped in, attempting to save her sibling, according to Valmiki Chaube, head of Naugaon police station. Despite her efforts, both sisters were pulled under and drowned.
The bodies of the sisters were eventually recovered, bringing a somber end to the unfortunate event that has left the community in mourning.
