Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has taken decisive steps to enhance paddy procurement and storage facilities in the state's Cauvery delta districts. During a meeting with ministers, senior officials, and district collectors, Stalin urged the provision of essential warehouse infrastructure to protect the harvested grains before they are transported to rice mills.

In a social media post, the Chief Minister revealed discussions held with Ministers M R K Panneerselvam, R Sakkarapani, T R B Rajaa, and five district collectors to address the pressing needs of paddy farmers amid a record-breaking year for cultivation. The meeting stressed developing adequate storage solutions to preserve the quality of grains obtained from farmers.

The Tamil Nadu government's initiative comes as the Civil Supplies Corporation begins procurement for the 2025-26 Kharif Marketing Season. By focusing on safeguarding farmers' produce, the state aims to streamline the storage and distribution processes for better efficiency and farmer welfare.
