In a significant move aligning with India's Swachh Bharat Mission, the Border Roads Organisation's Project Brahmank has initiated a month-long cleanliness campaign at Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh. Launched on October 2 in celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, the Swachhata Abhiyan will extend until October 31, according to the Ministry of Defence PRO.
The drive, spearheaded by the Chief Engineer of Project Brahmank, saw 85 participants, including officers and various personnel, commit to maintaining exemplary cleanliness across key locations like the Headquarters complex and residential quarters. The aim is to create a plastic-free and hygienic environment, reflecting Mahatma Gandhi's vision of a Clean India.
Simultaneously, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Culture for the Stitched Ship Project. Highlighting cultural heritage, this project focuses on INSV Kaundinya, a traditional wooden sailing vessel crafted using India's ancient 'stitched ship' technique, marking a revival of the nation's maritime craftsmanship.
