RSS Celebrates Centenary with Nationwide Events and Arrests in Chennai

In a major development, 39 members of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were detained in Chennai for conducting a training session without authorization. The incident unfolded at Ayyappanthangal Government Higher Secondary School, sparking a police intervention.
Simultaneously, the RSS celebrated its 100th anniversary in Nagpur with great fervor. The event was marked by the recitation of the Sangh Prarthana and was attended by prominent figures such as RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, and former President Ram Nath Kovind as the chief guest.
Founded in 1925 by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the RSS has consistently promoted cultural awareness and social responsibility. The centenary celebrations included the release of a special postage stamp and a Rs 100 coin, commemorating its legacy. Chief Mohan Bhagwat extolled the importance of character building, emphasizing the Shakha system in his address.
