A significant blaze erupted at a car repair shop near Eidgah Tiraha in Etawah's Civil Lines area on Monday, officials confirmed. The fire consumed several old and condemned vehicles parked at the site, but no injuries were reported. Police and fire services responded swiftly to contain the situation.
Circle Officer Abhay Narayan Rai stated that the fire was controlled promptly after emergency teams arrived. The mechanic shop, operated by Aneesh and Lucky, had both old and functional vehicles. Although the fire's origin remains unknown, rapid intervention by local police and fire tenders prevented further damage.
Additional firefighting units were deployed due to the surrounding trees and the fire's spread to upper branches. With two full fire tenders and one half fire tender, authorities ensured sufficient water pressure to extinguish the flames. While the immediate loss assessment is challenging, the officers noted that mostly condemned vehicles were damaged. A thorough investigation and damage evaluation is ongoing.
