Daring Helicopter Rescue: Paragliders Saved in Kangra's Remote Terrain

A major rescue operation took place in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh after two paragliders were involved in an accident in a remote mountainous area, officials informed. On Sunday, authorities launched a comprehensive rescue and relief mission in the challenging Guran Dhar area of Baijnath subdivision, where accessibility issues necessitated aerial assistance.
One of the injured men, Arun Singh from Rajasthan, suffered serious injuries. Officials reported that the other individual, Ranjan Gupta, was discovered trapped in a tree after the crash. A special rescue mission was executed with the help of an Indian Air Force helicopter, facilitating the safe evacuation of both paragliders from the site.
Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa highlighted the effective coordination between the administration and rescue teams, which resulted in both individuals being brought to safety. They were subsequently transferred to Vivekanand Hospital in Palampur for medical treatment. Updates on their condition are pending. (ANI)
