The Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express, a significant leap in rail connectivity for Jammu & Kashmir, was inaugurated by Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday. Speaking at the ceremony, Singh highlighted the project's potential to transform travel, tourism, and local economies in the region.
Singh emphasized that this new rail service will drastically cut travel time and improve logistics efficiency, thereby facilitating easier business operations across the Union Territory. He noted the long-awaited fulfillment of the community's aspirations for direct rail connections between Jammu and Srinagar, promising substantial economic and cultural benefits.
With the train route traversing scenic yet previously remote locations like Ramban's Sangaldan, there's an anticipated surge in tourism and film activity, reviving Jammu & Kashmir's status as a favored filming destination. Acknowledging the challenges and advancements in building such infrastructure, Singh regarded this project as a blueprint for future rail expansions in mountainous regions.
