The administration of Nanded district in Maharashtra on Tuesday issued an advisory for citizens, warning them against stepping out of homes unless very necessary in view of the heat wave warning on May 20.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow alert for Nanded district for Wednesday, warning of possible heatwave conditions at isolated places in the district.
In view of the forecast, the district administration has appealed to citizens to avoid stepping out of homes, especially between 12 noon and 3 pm, and refrain from heavy physical work during peak heat hours.
Citizens have also been warned against leaving children or animals inside parked vehicles.
The advisory also suggests people to drink sufficient water.
Special care has been advised for senior citizens, children, sick persons and obese individuals, who are considered more vulnerable during heatwave conditions, it said.
