In a significant development, the NEET-UG 2026 examination has been cancelled following allegations of a paper leak, as confirmed by the government on Tuesday. Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, announced that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release new dates for the rescheduled test.

Kumar also highlighted the government's initiative to introduce Artificial Intelligence and computational thinking into school curricula. Prepared by NCERT and CBSE, the new curriculum will teach these skills from classes 3 to 8, with teachers set to receive training before classes resume post-summer vacation. For older students, AI textbooks for classes 9 to 12 are in the works.

The cancellation of NEET-UG 2026 has sparked nationwide frustration among aspirants, with many lamenting the years of preparation impacted by the incident. As calls for examination reforms intensify, the government has turned to the CBI for a thorough investigation into the alleged irregularities, seeking to uphold the integrity of this crucial medical entrance test.
