Liquor Salesman Robbed and Ghaziabad Police Foil Armed Criminals

In Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur, a liquor salesman was assaulted and robbed of around Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 by unidentified men. Meanwhile, Ghaziabad police killed two wanted criminals in an encounter, recovering Rs 9 lakh. The incidents are under investigation.

In an alarming turn of events in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur, unidentified assailants violently attacked and robbed a liquor salesman on Tuesday night, making off with approximately Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000. The attack took place around 10:15 PM when the victim was traveling on a motorcycle with a canteen worker, Surjit. The attackers not only stole cash but also opened fire, injuring Surjit.

The police, led by Additional Superintendent of Police (South) Durgesh Kumar Singh, have launched an investigation into the crime scene. Authorities are confident that they will solve the case soon and are working to ensure the maintenance of peace and order in the locality.

In a related development, Ghaziabad police successfully neutralized two wanted criminals, Zubair and Sameer, involved in a high-profile ATM cash van robbery from May 6. Acting on a tip-off, police confronted the suspects in Wave City Police Station's jurisdiction. The ensuing shootout left the criminals dead, but not before three police personnel sustained injuries. The police seized Rs 9 lakh in cash, illegal firearms, and the vehicle used in the crime. Investigations continue into both incidents.
