The Telangana Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) has summoned Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar's son, Bandi Bhagirath, for questioning in connection with an alleged Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case. Authorities have also issued a notice to Bhagirath's maternal uncle, Dr. CH Vamshikrishna, related to the same case.

The FIR, filed upon a complaint from the mother of the alleged victim, initially cited Sections 74 and 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sections from the POCSO Act, but was later amended to more serious charges under Section 5(1) read with Section 6 of the POCSO Act. Those named in the notice face potential legal action if they fail to appear for the inquiry.

In a twist, Bhagirath claims to be a target of a honey-trap and extortion plot, as detailed in a police complaint in Karimnagar. Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticized these developments as a politically motivated attack against him, pledging full faith in the judiciary for justice. Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed an immediate investigation into the case.
