Tamil Nadu's newly inaugurated Chief Minister, C Joseph Vijay, is gearing up for his inaugural official visit to New Delhi at the end of May. This three-day diplomatic mission aims to reinforce state-federal collaborations and address pressing diplomatic issues.

The Chief Minister will engage in discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and high-ranking Union Cabinet Members, including Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S Jaishankar. Key topics will include comprehensive progress on ongoing initiatives in Tamil Nadu and pressing diplomatic concerns.

A notable agenda item is Vijay's appeal to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, addressing the arrest of six Indian fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy. The fishermen were detained for allegedly violating maritime boundaries, and the CM is pushing for swift diplomatic interventions to secure their release.
