The suspense surrounding the appointment of Keralam's next Chief Minister lingers, despite the Congress-led United Democratic Front's (UDF) resounding success in the 2026 Assembly elections. Concerns grow as posters targeting key figures such as Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with the Congress high command, surface near the Wayanad District Congress Committee office.

The delay in appointing a Chief Minister has provoked local disappointment, particularly reflected in posters criticizing the hesitation of Congress leadership. Comments targeting Rahul Gandhi noted his affiliation with KC Venugopal, while others criticized the Gandhis for neglecting the electoral stronghold of Wayanad.

Further complicating the party's position, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla accused the Congress of indecisiveness, sarcastically suggesting that a new leader may emerge annually within a five-year term. Various names, including VD Satheesan and KC Venugopal, have emerged as candidates, yet no consensus has been reached, amplifying the political uncertainty in the state.
