Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar has declared that his son, Bandi Bhagirath, will face legal proceedings without favoritism if proven guilty in a POCSO case. Bhagirath has approached the Telangana High Court seeking anticipatory bail, claiming he's embroiled in a Rs 5 crore extortion scheme.

Addressing a gathering in Karimnagar, the Minister reaffirmed his stance against preferential treatment due to familial ties. He stressed the universality of the law, emphasizing that no individual, including his son, is above it.

The case revolves around an FIR charging Bhagirath with numerous offenses, including sexual harassment, under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and POCSO Act. Bhagirath argues that the accusations are a backlash against a complaint he filed against the alleged victim's family, backed by claims of extortion. He stresses his commitment to legal processes and denies any intent to flee.
