Maharashtra's Commitment to Mango and Cashew Growers Amid Climate Challenges

Maharashtra's Revenue Minister, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, addressed the pressing concerns of mango and cashew growers in the Konkan region this Wednesday. The minister promised that the state government would not neglect those affected by the large-scale crop losses induced by unseasonal rains and climate change.

In a meeting held at the Mantralaya, he assured a delegation of orchard owners that a comprehensive compensation package would be decided after consulting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The gathering took place against the backdrop of a proposed march by growers demanding farm loan waivers and increased financial assistance due to their significant losses.

Bawankule emphasized the state's commitment to providing maximum relief and directed district collectors to conduct damage assessment surveys promptly and transparently. Echoing the growers' grievances, Minister Bawankule also vowed to address delays from insurance companies and ensure farmers receive their due compensations.
