The Goa government has announced an immediate ban on all foreign travel funded by the state exchequer for public servants. This decision aligns with a call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to conserve foreign exchange.
A memorandum issued by the state Finance Department revealed the cancellations, stating that any prior approvals for official foreign trips are rescinded.
The directive, communicated by Under Secretary Naresh Gaude of the Finance Revenue and Control, underscores Goa's commitment to stringent fiscal policies.
