A Defence Security Corps Junior Commissioned Officer died in a tragic accident during a routine firing session at the Central Ammunition Depot in Pulgaon, Maharashtra, according to official reports issued on Friday. The incident occurred at the facility's firing range, claiming the life of Subedar Major Om Bahadur Khand.
The fatal accident transpired on May 15, when routine drills at the ammunition depot took a calamitous turn. The officials have confirmed that the incident is under investigation to determine the cause of the mishap.
The Defence Security Corps unit expressed its heartfelt condolences to Subedar Major Khand's family, stating, "The Unit conveys their deepest condolences to the aggrieved family." The Central Ammunition Depot in Pulgaon is one of India's largest such facilities, situated in the Wardha district. The investigation continues to shed light on this unfortunate event.
