West Bengal Minister Agnimitra Paul has leveled serious allegations against former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of orchestrating a conspiracy in the handling of the RG Kar Medical College case. The accusations come in the wake of the suspension of three police officers due to lapses in the case. Paul commended the move to suspend the officials, alleging that the case involved more than just Sanjay Roy, and pointing to a broader conspiracy involving the previous TMC government.

Paul has highlighted numerous irregularities during the case's proceedings, citing unauthorized post-mortem practices and pressuring the victim's family as major issues. She accused the authorities of hastily cremating the body to obstruct further investigation, an act that raises suspicion of significant misconduct beyond Sanjay Roy's involvement.

Addressing the media, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced an investigation targeting senior police officials, including former Kolkata CP Vineet Kumar Goyal. He emphasized the need for transparency and stated that the West Bengal Police and CID are now overseeing the investigation. The RG Kar Medical College incident, which has spurred national outrage, demands justice and has prompted calls to revisit unresolved corruption cases from the past.
