Uttarakhand's Dual Drive: A Farewell to One and an Eco-friendly Future

In a solemn visit, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami offered his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Somendra Singh Bohra, a resident of Champawat district who passed away following a tragic accident. Demonstrating solidarity and support, Dhami presented Somendra's father with a financial assistance cheque of Rs 10 lakh.

As the state mourns, its government is also looking ahead, unveiling comprehensive guidelines on energy conservation and sustainable development. Prompted by global economic disruptions, including the post-pandemic landscape and international tensions, the directives target reduced energy consumption and promote environmental protection as a collective effort.

Key measures include maintaining air conditioner temperatures in government offices between 24-26 degrees Celsius and enhancing awareness of prudent electricity use. Fuel-saving strategies are prioritized through video conferencing, public transport, and electric vehicles. Such initiatives aim to integrate eco-friendly practices within both public and private sectors across Uttarakhand.
