Maharashtra Civic Officials Embrace Fuel-Free Commute

In a bid to endorse fuel conservation, civic officials and corporators in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, chose bicycles and electric vehicles over their regular fuel-run counterparts.

Both practicality and environmental consciousness were at play as Municipal Commissioner Amol Yedge and Mayor Sameer Rajurkar piloted this green move in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's fuel conservation appeal.

The shift saw All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party members cycling to work, with electric vehicles on standby for official duties, emphasizing a collective action toward sustainable commuting.
