Delhi Municipal Corporation Delays Key Elections Amid Scheduling Conflicts

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) announced the postponement of elections for six vacant seats on its Standing Committee and the leadership of 12 ward committees. Originally set for May 23, these elections are now likely to occur on June 3.
The revised schedule also pushed back the ward committee elections from May 19 to May 29. Meanwhile, a General House meeting is confirmed for May 25 at 2 pm, to be held at Delhi's Civic Centre.
In addition, 14 previously adjourned House meetings, pending since January 2024, are also slated for discussions on May 25. These meetings will follow 10-minute intervals from 2.30 pm to 4.40 pm.
