In a significant political shift, Kerala witnessed the swearing-in of the Congress-led United Democratic Front administration, with VD Satheesan taking the oath as the state's 13th Chief Minister. BJD MP Sasmit Patra congratulated Satheesan, expressing hope that the new leadership would effectively address the challenges ahead.

Patra highlighted the importance of addressing ecological concerns related to the Great Nicobar project, stressing that Parliament should be informed about potential environmental impacts while upholding national security. This issue has gained particular significance with Congress leader Jairam Ramesh also weighing in, urging transparency.
