Bioenergy project development platform REnergy Dynamics on Tuesday said it has secured two waste-to-compressed biogas projects from Refex Renewables.

The projects include a 12.5 TPD CBG plant in Coimbatore and a 10 TPD CBG plant in Salem, both located in Tamil Nadu, a statement said.

Both facilities will utilize the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (MSW) as feedstock and will deploy two-stage mesophilic anaerobic digestion with CSTR technology, ensuring efficient processing, optimized gas yields, and long-term operational reliability.

REnergy Dynamics will undertake Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) along with one year of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for both plants, ensuring seamless execution and stable plant performance post-commissioning.

Kushagra Nandan, Chairman & Managing Director, REnergy Dynamics, said in the statement, ''Securing two projects from Refex Renewables is a significant milestone for REnergy Dynamics.''.

Together, the two projects will process 550 tonnes of municipal solid waste per day.

This will be translating into significant environmental and economic impact, including 2.9 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions displaced annually (approx 1.45 lakh tonnes per plant), as well as methane from waste is captured and converted into clean bioenergy, instead of being released into the atmosphere through landfill decomposition.

It will reduce landfill dependency and improve urban waste management systems.

Kalpesh Kumar, MD, Refex Renewables, said, ''Our partnership with REnergy Dynamics is rooted in a shared vision of building efficient, scalable waste-to-energy solutions that make a lasting impact.''
