Three members of a family, including a one-year-old child, were rescued from a house fire in Delhi's Shahdara by police personnel, who entered the burning premises on Saturday, officials said.
The fire erupted in Ajeet Nagar following leakage from a cooking gas cylinder, the police said.
A routine police patrol team spotted the blaze and learned that residents were trapped inside. Without waiting for additional support, the personnel rushed to the spot and found three persons trapped inside a first-floor room engulfed in flames and smoke, the police said.
The team entered the burning premises and rescued all three, an official said.
The injured were immediately shifted to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital in an autorickshaw to ensure prompt medical treatment.
The rescued were identified as Arshad Ali (34), his wife Arshana (28) and their son Arman Ali.
