The Twisha Sharma death case has taken a significant turn as the Supreme Court of India ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to lead the probe. This development follows an intensive interrogation of Samarth Singh, the victim's husband and primary suspect, conducted by a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
During questioning, Singh spoke of his wife's distress post-abortion and admitted to giving her Rs 7 lakh. However, he tried to mislead the investigators about his abscondence. Key items, including his laptop and passport, were seized. Meanwhile, the court cautioned families against media interactions to ensure a fair investigation.
Legal challenges are mounting, as the state government contests the anticipatory bail of Giribala Singh, while the victim's father files a separate challenge. The Madhya Pradesh High Court has expedited proceedings, scheduling crucial legal sessions in response to allegations of mental and dowry harassment preceding Sharma's tragic death.
