The Chandigarh Administration announced a revised date for the Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) public holiday, shifting it to May 28, 2026. This change affects all government offices, boards, and institutions within the Union Territory, as declared by the Home Department's latest notification.
Originally slated for May 27, the change was made through modifications of the December 2025 holiday notification. Reacting to this update, the National Testing Agency (NTA) postponed the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET-UG) 2026 exams, initially scheduled for May 28.
The NTA, through a post on X and a public notice, informed candidates about the postponement of both examination shifts scheduled for that day. The announcement references a May 22, 2026, memorandum from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and advises candidates to monitor official channels for new examination dates.
