The Rapid Response Teams, formed at the behest of Delhi Development Minister Kapil Mishra, carried out inspections across various regions on Tuesday to enforce compliance with the Bakrid advisory. These teams focused on ensuring that guidelines for animal welfare and management were followed during the festival season.
Led by district in-charges and deputy directors, the teams have been instructed to meticulously monitor animal transportation and management, rigorously enforce animal welfare norms, and swiftly act against any violations. The government has made it clear that non-compliance would lead to strict criminal consequences.
Public safety and cleanliness are paramount during this time, emphasized Mishra. He highlighted that sacrifices would only be allowed at designated places, and any illegal animal trade or improper waste disposal would be met with serious legal action. Authorities encourage public reports of any infractions to maintain order throughout the festival.
