A fire erupted in a bank's premises in Kirti Nagar, West Delhi, late Tuesday, prompting residents on upper floors to flee to the terrace of a nearby building. According to officials, no one was harmed.
The Delhi Fire Service received an emergency call at 6 PM, dispatching four fire engines to control the flames. The fire began on the ground floor, likely due to a short circuit in an electrical panel near the entrance, igniting four electricity meters.
As thick smoke enveloped the residential floors, tenants from the second to fourth levels resorted to crossing onto an adjoining structure. Station Officer BL Meena reported that fire crews successfully contained the blaze, averting its spread to additional sections of the building.
