Gujarat's Health Minister, Praful Pansheriya, confirmed that Tata Airlines will compensate Rs 53.12 crore to the Health Department for the damage caused to the 'Atulyam 1 to 4' blocks during the Ahmedabad plane crash incident, as per a recent press release.

In the aftermath of the tragic plane crash on June 12, 2025, in Meghani Nagar, significant damage was inflicted on the department-owned 'Atulyam' hostel blocks, affecting 92 student residents. Post-accident, a structural audit deemed the buildings unsafe, necessitating demolition.

Under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel's guidance, the state plans to construct a new, modern hostel complex to minimize disruption for students. The facility, set to accommodate 236 super-speciality PG doctors, will include state-of-the-art amenities and safety provisions.
