In a significant move to bolster national security, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the G-7 Border Outpost in Gujarat's Bhuj, marking a crucial step in enhancing India's defense along the Indo-Pak International Border. Overcoming substantial technical and geographical challenges, the Rs 175 crore facility forms a vital part of the government's strategy to secure the sensitive Harami Nala region.
Amit Shah, accompanied by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi, addressed the gathering post-inauguration. Shah highlighted the efforts required to fortify the border infrastructure, reflecting on his early observations of the vulnerabilities in Harami Nala region during his tenure. The outpost represents a strategic triumph in establishing a robust security grid, achieved through meticulous planning and day-to-day monitoring over several months.
Further in his visit, Shah acknowledged the incomplete border fencing in West Bengal as a lingering concern, but noted the expedited land allocation under the BJP government to address this. The Home Minister is on a two-day Gujarat tour, during which he has unveiled significant projects, including the 'Bharat Mata Sculpture' in Ahmedabad. His agenda also sees inaugurations of development projects worth Rs 340 crore in Gandhinagar's constituencies, aiming to propel the region towards becoming the most developed parliamentary constituency by 2029.
