In a move to significantly advance geriatric care, Geri Care Hospitals in Chennai has achieved the status of being the first private institution in Tamil Nadu accredited to offer the DNB Geriatric Medicine program by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).

The three-year residency program, starting this academic year, will provide four seats at the Adambakkam campus. Aspiring geriatricians must clear the NEET PG 2025 and undergo merit-based counseling to pursue this course.

Geri Care, founded in 2018, operates as India's first healthcare network specifically for senior citizens, offering a full range of services from home care to specialized hospital services. The accreditation highlights their commitment to addressing the urgent need for trained geriatricians in India's healthcare system.
