On Monday, Nagaland recorded its first COVID-19 case of the year when a resident in Dimapur tested positive, according to a statement issued by health authorities.
The patient, who is experiencing mild symptoms, is currently in home isolation and is under close observation by health officials, Director of Health and Family Welfare Mereninla Senlem noted.
The government reassured the public not to panic, highlighting that current COVID-19 variants cause mild symptoms such as fever, cough, and sore throat, which typically resolve without hospital care. Residents are advised to continue COVID-appropriate behavior to curb the virus spread.
