A tragic explosion occurred at the Sigachi Industries pharmaceutical plant in Telangana's Sangareddy district, leading to 12 deaths and injuring 34 others. Health Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha confirmed the disaster and stated it was likely due to a suspected chemical reaction.
The accident caused severe damage, with some employees being thrown nearly 100 meters from the site. Investigations are ongoing, and technical experts are examining the cause. Among the injured, 12 are critically affected, fighting for their lives in hospitals.
In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced compensation for the victims through the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund and offered condolences. Sigachi Industries promised to support victims' families while halting operations temporarily. A government-appointed committee will oversee rescue operations and probe the incident.
