President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, underlining the significance of traditional Indian healthcare systems in national development.
She emphasized that achieving a developed India by 2047 is contingent upon a healthy populace, asserting that the AYUSH University will be pivotal in this mission. Murmu advocated for the adoption of Ayurveda and nature-based lifestyles, stressing their importance alongside modern medicine.
Furthermore, the President highlighted the institution's state-of-the-art infrastructure, funded at Rs 268 crore, and its potential to influence global acceptance of AYUSH practices. Endorsing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiatives in promoting yoga, Murmu expressed confidence in the university's role as a bridge between tradition and modernity.
