NIMHANS and the Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN) under the Ministry of AYUSH have collaborated to launch a new research center focusing on mind-body interventions. The initiative aims to integrate traditional Indian systems with modern medical science through evidence-based research, targeting mental health, metabolic disorders, and neurological conditions.
Dr. Hemant Bhargav of the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences will lead the project. The team unites expertise from both institutions with the goal of advancing mind-body medicine. Training for healthcare professionals and the development of standard protocols for integrative treatments are key components of the partnership.
The initiative promises infrastructure support and research capability enhancement. With an allocated budget for staffing and equipment, the collaboration will also focus on publishing in peer-reviewed journals and developing patient education materials. A joint committee will oversee the project's effective implementation.
