Arunachal Governor Redefines Mental Health as Shared Responsibility

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, LT Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik, has called for mental health to be considered a shared responsibility rather than a social taboo. Speaking at an event in Itanagar, Parnaik highlighted the importance of mental well-being and the need to support those facing mental health challenges.
In a notable gesture, the governor provided grant-in-aid cheques amounting to Rs 15 lakh, distributing Rs 10 lakh to Deepak Nabam Living Home and Rs 5 lakh to Mother's Home. These donations aim to bolster the efforts of organizations dedicated to mental health rehabilitation and support.
Parnaik praised the dedication of mental health organizations, stressing their role in restoring hope and dignity for marginalized individuals. He assured that both the state and central governments stand in solidarity with these efforts to advance their benevolent mission.
