On Wednesday, Odisha's Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida initiated a bi-monthly campaign focused on bolstering anganwadi centers statewide.

During the launch of the 'Aasa Jiba Anganwadi' initiative from August 1-15, Parida inaugurated a capacity building workshop in Odisha, targeting Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs). She encouraged citizens to inspect their local anganwadi centers and provide feedback regarding cleanliness, infrastructure, and effectiveness.

This campaign coincides with World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7) and underscores the importance of community engagement in early childhood development. The digital 'AWESOME' app has also been introduced to bolster service delivery and infrastructure monitoring at these centers.

In her remarks, Parida highlighted the pivotal role of CDPOs in fulfilling Odisha's vision of eliminating malnutrition by 2036. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja emphasized adopting people-centric strategies, focusing on health, nutrition, and early childhood education as pivotal aspects of the 'Vision Odisha 2036' framework. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed to ensure ongoing training for ICDS officers and staff in partnership with the National Institute of Public Cooperation & Child Development (NIPCCD).
