In an effort to bolster healthcare services, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a 250-bed super-speciality private hospital in Gorakhpur on Sunday. This development is part of a broader healthcare push in eastern Uttar Pradesh and surrounding regions, benefiting areas as far as northwest Bihar and Nepal.

During the event, Adityanath asserted that there is no deficiency in healthcare facilities within the district, citing state-backed schemes like Ayushman Yojana and Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana for those unable to afford treatment. He noted that Rs 1,100 crore has been allocated in the past year from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for healthcare initiatives.

The chief minister proclaimed the new hospital as a significant 'achievement' for eastern UP. He reminisced about the past when BRD Medical College was the sole major health center, which has since undergone a transformation under his governance. He credited substantial improvements, citing new medical colleges in multiple districts and the establishment of an AIIMS in the area.
