Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi announced on Friday the development of a 100-bed Critical Care Unit at Swami Dayanand Hospital, boosting healthcare infrastructure in east Delhi. The facility will feature an ICU and emergency operation theatre.
During his inspection in Dilshad Garden, Wahi emphasized that the facility, part of the 'Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat'-Health Infrastructure Mission, aims to diminish the reliance on other hospitals for critical care. This enhancement includes a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a Nursery.
The mayor also launched an air-conditioned waiting area for patient attendants and ordered improvements in public amenities, heatwave preparedness, and staff accommodations. Daily the hospital serves 4,000 OPD visitors, necessitating increased resources and cleanliness.
